Moss and Ivy

A few Months back we were asked by Amy Kate Photography to collaborate on a sweet little shoot she had been dreaming up for sometime. One of our absolute favourites to date as we had the complete trust and freedom within the team to put our own spin onto the shoot while still staying true to its roots.

The day started with a trek out to the woods where this little beauty was happening (When I say little I mean 700m down a dirt road and 100m into the forest and up some pretty epic hills with no car access) so needless to say we lifted a fair amount of furniture that day and definitely hit the daily exercise requirement! As soon as we got all the gear down there and were able to take in the space, you could tell it was going to be the perfect combination of moody, dreamy and just that tiny bit magical.

We set to work with the foraged backdrop, utilising what we could find within the woods to showcase this natural beauty. This meant around a hour of traipsing around the woods collecting as much hanging foliage as we could get our hands on so we could bulk out the backdrop enough. We wanted this to be loose, unstructured and wild – as if it was just stumbled upon in the forest. The finish product was actually kind of epic and really unfussy which was exactly the feeling we were going for with this shoot.

For the tablescape we wanted this to flow naturally but still have a number of textural elements to play on. We used a number of different mosses here, Gum nuts, Antlers, foraged branches, Ivy, Pinecones and some ceramics to add height. We finished it off with some brass wear to add more depth and contrast to the table as well as adding some much needed warmth to the set.

We kept the place settings simple with relaxed ivy and acorns finishing off the table set, Simple and unfussy was the aim here. Overall it was such a dream to come on board and have a play on this awesome shoot with some pretty phenomenal vendors.

It came together so beautifully with so many fantastic elements that all worked so beautifully together. I mean how good was that cake and the stationary set?!

We commissioned the sweet signage from Confetti collection and it could not have been more perfect for this shoot, thanks again!
